Abstract
From process theologians point of view, divine activity is God’s activity in the world and his
influence on creatures. In order to answer the philosophical and theological issues in this matter,
in the analysis of divine agency in the world system, they consider change better than stability
and consider their philosophy to be based on mutation and mutual transformation and organic
movement of all beings. Despite the fact that creatures have two main and secondary
dimensions and have mutual relationships with each other, they retain their individuality and
are creative.
Therefore, God, as one of the beings of this world who is in latitude of other beings, is variable
in his subordinate nature, and the relationship of influence and effectiveness between God and
the beings of the world leads to the solution of God in the world. Now, in order to maintain the
effectiveness and creativity and self-creation of other beings along with divine agency,
foreknowledge and divine absolute power have been negated, and God is not the creator of
beings, but only has creativity.
Despite the internal inconsistency in the view of this school, Mulla Sadra, based on his
philosophical principles, considers the theory of process theologians in the field of divine
agency to be contrary to the inherent necessity and simplicity of God’s essence, and considering
the agent by manifestation of God, while maintaining the excellence of the divine essence,
agency It proves him in all dimensions of the beings, and provides the field to respond to the
theological problems in the field of divine activity.
